I was in charge of systems support, acquisitions, training, and software design in 20 Macintosh computers. This is where I started my training in GIS. I selected Bentley (Intergraph) products using IBM compatible hardware to control the Tourist complex. I settle the Master Development Plan in a GIS

 

03/92=>02/93 Head of Statistical and Marketing departments in PEPSICO Mexico. I learned to use Excel extensively. I had to spend $2 million dollars/year in media advertising. Our small bottle company was listed on WALL STREET New York stock market. I was in charge of preparing all the information to get it. I met and worked with one of the 10 richest men in the world.

 

03/90=>02/92 Because of a death in my immediate family. I resigned to IIE and then started up my own business importing merchandise from USA to Mexico for 2 years.

 

02/85 =>02/90 Electrical Research Institute.  

3 years as Head of Administrative Control at Mechanical Research Department. My 3 main responsibilities: 1) Administration of $5 million dollar/year budget. 2) To facilitate the clear expression of our 22 Researchers written specialized technical reports/magazines publications. 3) 3 Projects Plan Elaboration and Control (Critical Path).

Two of the 3 years, I was working towards my Masters Degree in Computer Science while still employed.

I was in charge of the negotiations to sell a State of Art project to the Federal Electricity Administration in Mexico (CFE). SIMPER was the project name = Rotary Equipment Predictive Maintenance Information System.

SIMPER got variables to monitoring them (Real Time) from a 300 MW steam turbine, in order to set ALARMS on several PC screens, to avoid over stress efforts in Blades sets.

When I finished my masters, I got a promotion as a Head of Area Researcher. I designed and created code (“C” on UNIX) to get Screen Diagrams, Vibrations monitoring, Temperatures …

I participated in vital instrumentation of the facilities, I chose the Operating System on UNIX, and I was in charge of the Software generation Quality.

I worked too in Transmission Lines wind effects, CAD / CAM, Short Circuit Laboratory, I was working with Stanford, MIT, Université Paris Sorbonne and many others high qualified PhD colleges for 5 years.

Member of Mexico’s National Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT) as National Candidate Researcher (SNI) (1989)

 

04/83 => 01/85 Firestone Cuernavaca Head of the Statistical Quality Insurance Department. I trained ±450 workers/employees in Statistical tools. I identified a problem with a main process function. I found the reason studying the equipment books in German. As a result: Firestone sent 10 technical and financial experts to Mexico to correct this problem. THIS WAS A QUALITY SUCCESS. I received 100% pay raise.
